Are you ready for a baking adventure that’s as fun as it is delicious? Little Cookhouse is thrilled to launch our newest class for budding young bakers – the “Snakes and Ladders Marble Cake” class! This isn’t just any baking class; it’s a magical journey where the classic board game meets culinary creativity, all designed with your little ones in mind.

What’s in Store?

• Hands-On Baking: Children will learn to bake a scrumptious marble cake from scratch, using fresh ingredients and kid-friendly ingredients. They’ll marvel at the swirling patterns they create, making each cake truly unique.
• Creative Decoration: After baking, the excitement continues as each child turns their cake into a playable Snakes and Ladders board. With colourful fondant, they’ll craft snakes, ladders, and even dice, developing both their artistic flair and fine motor skills.
• Educational Fun: This class is not just about baking and decorating; it’s a fantastic way for kids to practice basic math, enhance problem-solving abilities, and learn about patience and turn-taking, all while engaging in a game of Snake and Ladder on their very own edible board!
• Taste of Achievement: What’s more rewarding than enjoying a slice of cake you’ve made yourself? Children will beam with pride as they share their creation with family, bringing the joy of their accomplishment home.

1h 45mins, suitable for 3 – 12 years old. Children below 6 years old should be accompanied by an adult. 1 accompanying adult is allowed, priority for accompanying parents given for younger children given the limited capacity, subject to sign up numbers.

Skills Covered:

• Measuring and Mixing: Children learn the importance of precise measurement and the technique of mixing ingredients thoroughly to achieve a consistent batter. This is crucial in baking as it ensures the cake rises properly and has a uniform texture.

• Marbling Technique: We’ll teach the fun and creative process of creating a marble effect. It’s a fantastic way for students to express their creativity while understanding the fluidity and texture of cake batter.

• Fondant Handling: Students will be introduced to the world of fondant, learning how to roll, dye, and shape it into various figures and objects. This session aims to enhance their fine motor skills and artistic vision by crafting snakes, ladders, and dice out of fondant.

• Design and Composition: By transforming their marble cakes into a playable Snake and Ladder board, children learn about layout and design, planning their decoration to not only look appealing but also function as a game board.

Limited to a maximum of 8 participants per session.

Note: Children attending our classes should already be three years old and above at time of registration. This is to ensure more effective learning through our age-appropriate activities.
